  • Acrobatics

    This routine consists of acro tricks but also demonstrates an equal number of dance movements.

  • Ballet

    This routine must contain ballet technique and movement. No acrobatics allowed.

  • Ballroom

    Styles of ballroom dance that include Cha-Cha-Cha, Rumba, Samba, Paso Doble, and Jive.

  • Character Ballet

    This routine must incorporate ballet technique and movement portraying a character or specific theme. No acrobatics allowed.

  • Contemporary

    This routine must contain technique with free range movement showcasing the dancer(s) creative abilities and emotions. A limit of up to three acrobatic tricks allowed.

  • Hip Hop

    This routine must contain street-style movement. A limit of up to three acrobatic tricks allowed.

  • Jazz

    This routine must contain primarily jazz movement and technique, with a limit of up to three acrobatic tricks allowed.

  • Lyrical

    This routine must contain ballet and jazz technique and portray emotion. A limit of up to three acrobatic tricks allowed.

  • Modern

    This routine must showcase a modern technique. A limit of up to three acrobatic tricks allowed.

  • Musical Theatre

    This routine can contain any style of dance while interpreting the song using lip syncing, acting, and/or props. A limit of up to three acrobatic tricks allowed

  • Open

    This routine can combine any two or more dance forms but cannot showcase more than six acrobatic tricks. It also is the category for any dance form that is not listed.

  • Pointe

    This routine consists of ballet technique and must be danced in pointe shoes. No acrobatics allowed.

  • Song and Dance

    This routine consists of live vocal performance with incorporated dance movement. No lead vocals permitted on the recording. Studios must supply their own microphones/headsets for lead vocalists. A limit of up to three acrobatic tricks allowed.

  • Tap

    This routine must contain tap technique with no pre-recorded tap sounds on the recording. A limit of up to three acrobatic tricks allowed.

  • Student Choreo

    Routine must be choreographed 100% by a student.
