A dance competition that is so much more than just a competition!

Not only do dancers have an opportunity to showcase their talent in an organized and supportive environment, but On The Floor realizes the importance of continued training and offers both workshops and scholarships to assist young dancers. Regional winners even get a chance to perform at a live event! And it doesn’t stop there – even studios can benefit by opting to choose to make charitable donations in lieu of receiving trophies. OTF has thought of every little detail – including on-site hair salon services for quick hair changes! Need I say more?

Mitchell and Lisa are nothing less than the ultimate dynamic duo, the perfect fit to create the ultimate dance competition! On The Floor is full of exciting personalities, endless talent, and constant encouragement. This dance experience is one that motivates and supports dancers of all kinds from all different backgrounds. Mitchell, Lisa, and the entire faculty are beaming with positive energy and this is an event no dancer will want to miss this season.

Mitchell and Lisa are two of the most professional people that I know. They have been working so hard on this project and I am so proud to be a part of it. When Lisa and Mitchell started telling me details of this wonderful project all I could think of was how I wished they had something like this when I was growing up. This competition is going to be great for meeting tons of new people, working with talented choreographers, and of course having so much fun. At On The Floor® (OTF), our mission is to provide you with an exceptional experience, whether you’re taking part in one of our competitions, workshops, or events. We hope the information below will answer any questions you may have about our various events.

  • How can I register for a competition in advance?

    To register for a competition, simply login to your DanceBUG account by visiting www.onthefloor.ca/registration.

  • Do you accept independent entries?

    Yes. Please contact us at dance@onthefloor.ca for further details.

  • What are your fees?

    Fees are released to studio owners and competition directors only.

  • Is the competition free to watch?

    Yes!

  • Does every performer receive an award?

    Yes! Everyone who performs at an OTF competition receives an award.

  • What type of workshops do you offer?

    We currently offer a variety of exciting workshops –our Ultimate Summer Intensive, Ultimate Winter Intensive and Back 2 Basics workshops.

  • Where are workshops located, when do they take place, and how much do they cost?

    Workshop locations, dates, and costs vary – please select the event you are interested in from the “Events” link on the main menu to learn more.

  • How can I register for a workshop?

    Please select the event you are interested in from the “Events” link on the main menu. This will bring you to a page with additional information about that workshop, with a button near the bottom of the page allowing you to register directly on our website.
